Mobile Home Inspection

Mobile homes are unique

We sometimes get asked if we inspect mobile homes. We are happy to answer "yes"! Mobile homes have some unique characteristics that require a different level of expertise from a fixed home inspection. Our lead inspector not only has specialized training for inspecting mobile homes in Indiana, but he also owned one for several years, giving him valuable insight to their unique attributes, and what to look for during a mobile home inspection.

Inspecting Mobile Homes

During a mobile home inspection, we not only look at all the same things we look at during a home inspection, but we also examine the anchoring system. Anchoring is critical to a mobile home's performance in strong winds. We also examine the pier supports for adequacy and appropriate placement, and examine the skirting for condition and movement.  Note: If you need a foundation / anchoring certification for a loan from FHA or VA, there will be an additional fee. Those certifications must be prepared by a licensed engineer. We can line that up for you, or you can find an engineer who performs foundation certifications on your own.
